For the past 13 years, history is brought to life by the SAQ New France Festival. With a series of ongoing activities, the festival makes us experience the everyday life of the first European settlers of the 17th and 18th centuries, here in Quebec City. This year, St-Jean Street takes part in the festivities.

2010 Canotgraphie Festival
August 14th to 15th 2010
Come meet the best "canoegraphists" from here and elsewhere and watch the astonishing figures that these oar artists can make with their watercraft. During the 3rd edition of this still water canoe and kayak festival, a host of activities await participants in the upper St-Charles River area, particularly at Parc Jean Roger Durand, in Wendake and at Parc de la Falaise and the Kabir Kouba waterfall. A shuttle to the different sites will be available, with stops scheduled along Rue Racine and Boulevard Bastien.
Again this year, in the Park Saint-André, Festi-Parc returns with activities for all members of the family: entertainment, an amusement park (for small kids), a show by the group RockStar on Friday evening at 9 :00pm and a show by Karma Kaméléons Saturday evening at 9 :00pm. Don't miss this family event.

Saint-Sauveur en fête is a large-scale public celebration that has attracted some 25,000 local and foreign visitors each year for the past 60 years. The festivities take place on the Saint-Vallier Ouest Street, which is closed off for the occasion on Saturday, September 4, 2010 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Programming includes dancing, music, open air dining on the street and games for children…Come and join us!
The Quebec City Gay Pride is a socio-artistic festival which takes place during the Labor Day weekend in September. It attracts thousands of people in Quebec's downtown. Through its activities, the festival gives the opportunity to the entire population to know better the gays, lesbians, bisexuals and trans people, organizations and artists.
During the Journées de la Culture, more than 20 art galleries located on the Saint-Pierre, Sault-au-Matelot and Saint-Paul streets will open their doors from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. to showcase a different side of commercial streets in Québec City.
The public will have the opportunity to delight in an enchanting, starlit evening in the company of homebred artists, as music fills the air for a festive street ambiance. Bite-size snacks will be offered courtesy of local restaurants.
The Halloween Mascarade, an event not to miss, is held October 31st of every year, from 5 pm till 9 pm. For the occasion, in the borough La-Haute-Saint-Charles, the street Racine and this year the boulevard Bastien will be opened to pedestrian only. Series of ongoing activities will be presented on more than 2 kilometres and therefore the visitors will be able to move and have more fun!
The business association of Bastien-Neufchâtel is happy to announce the distribution of their new business directory (list of businesses and professionals well established in the neighbourhood) of the boulevard Bastien in Neufchâtel. Printed in 20 000 copies, will be distributed at 15 000 residential addresses. You can also get one in the participating businesses of the Boulevard Bastien. Besides the addresses and phone numbers, you can also get privilege card only for the residents of the sector, allowing them to have some exclusive offers all year round.
